The job is about hiring and firing, and the managers all know that.

Though the English Premier League 2018/19 season is barely one week old, there are already uncertainties surrounding the job of Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho.

Zinedine Zidane, who resigned from Real Madrid after winning the UEFA Champions League for the third consecutive time in May, may be heading to Old Trafford.

Mourinho, who is in his third season with the Red Devils, has been the centre of attention of affairs with Manchester, openly criticising the club's transfer policy as well as the players especially Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba.

And, according to French outlet L'Equipe, Zidane is closely monitoring the situation at Man Utd as he considers his next role.

Zidane already has the CV to manage any club after winning the World Cup with France in 1998, as well as winning the UCL with Real - one of only seven men to win the coveted trophy as a player and as a manager.

Mourinho has not been a happy man at United, and could be feeling the pressure to deliver after finishing 19 points behind champions Manchester City in the league last season.

Since Zidane appears readily available, Manchester United top management may not be patient enough for Mourinho if he doesn’t deliver the results in the first half of the EPL.
