He was ‘doing the work of God’ but unfortunately, he lost his life in the process.

18 years-old Ezekiel Okon was under anointing during one of his preaching rounds at Ifu-ogo Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South local government area of Ebonyi State.

He may have consciously or unconsciously pulled down a statue of late Edda xxiii, Ezeogo Chima.

The development angered youths from the area, who attacked him immediately and beat him till he died.

Bounce News gathered that the teenager, who is the son of Pastor Okon Ikwor of Seed of Christ and Fire Ministry, ‎unknowingly pulled down the statue while on evangelism in the community.

He was not lucky as youths rushed and arrested him, tied him down at Atamata Court Area and tortured him mercilessly.

They went on to set ablaze Pastor Okon's two-bedroom apartment, while he was away to another ministry at Oso Edda.

It was alleged that ‎after the boy was discovered dead, he was buried secretly while his father was denied access to his grave.

When contacted, the Ebonyi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Loveth Odah, confirmed the report, and said Police is investigating the alleged killing.

Meanwhile, the father of the accused, Pastor Okon Ikwor has petitioned Ebonyi State Police Commissioner (CP) Titus Lamorde.

In a two-page petition to the CP, Pastor Okon accused about five persons and called on the Police Commissioner to use his good office to grant him justice.

According to him, the suspects after killing and secretly burying his son, summoned him to appear before the youth at Atamata Court Yard with three goats and two bottles of Schnapps hot drink as fine for the offence of the slain son.

But while on his way to the courtyard, a good Samaritan, who he did not know, came to him and asked him to run for his dear life that the youths will lynch him if he goes to Atamata courtyard.

He lamented that he has lost everything, not just his son alone, but all his property as well.
