To be forewarned is to be forearmed, says an adage.

If Buhari had planned to seek re-election in 2019, he should reconsider the decision, because it would lead to an undesirable outcome, says fiery Enugu-based preacher and catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

In a rather shocking new year message, Mbaka chastised his much-loved President Buhari for being too slow in his governance and allowing politicians to take over and direct the wheel of change he promised in Nigeria in 2015.

Indeed, the preacher showed he had lots of axe to grind with the septuagenarian leader and warned him to steer clear of the political scene upon the expiration of his tenure in 2019 if he does not want to be disgraced like his predecessor, President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mbaka, who is the spiritual director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria delivered his message before thousands of worshippers in a New Year early Monday morning service, just about the same time President Buhari was delivering his new year message on television.

This is serious and sets the tone for what is to come in 2019. Had another preacher issued this warning, perhaps one would not have taken it seriously, but it was at the same pulpit three years ago, that Mbaka had prophesied that then President Goodluck Jonathan would be defeated in the 2015 election.

Mbaka said: “President Buhari must wake up and sit up immediately or…heaven demands him, heaven demands Buhari, our President to change all those who are holding and caging him in captivity; if he will not change them, he will be changed.

“Mr. President wake up. Sit up. God said you are toying with the privilege given to you. There is no time. Nigerians are dying in your hand, people are not happy with your system.

“Change or you will be changed. God said that Buhari is in trouble. Buhari is hypnotized. Buhari is in a horrible bondage. Buhari’s mantra has been canibalized.

“Unless President Buhari quickly and strategically, positions the right people and changes the former ones he inaugurated, the wind of change that he himself inaugurated will blow him away shamefully.

“The wind will be too strong that Mr. President and the cabal will be blown out of office shamefully. The wind will be irresistible for it will come like a hurricane. Buhari can handle this problem but number one, his office, if he is not careful, another will take.”
