Members of the House of Representatives have paid a solidarity visit to the Senate chambers after the loss of their mace to thugs supposedly led in by suspended senator, Ovie Omo-Agege.

The House of Reps members were led by Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun.

In his remarks, Ekweremadu said that the thugs invaded and left the chambers unhindered and almost kidnapped two senators.

He then gave the police and DSS 24 hours to recover and produce the stolen mace.

"We are determined to conclude all matters slated on the Order Paper for today, even if it means us sitting until 6pm,” Ekweremadu said.

The Deputy Senate President was presiding over proceedings at the time the incident happened.

Senate President Bukola Saraki is currently in the United States attending the World Bank/IMF Spring Meeting.

The Senate has since resumed its session with another mace and surprisingly, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege himself is said to be calmly seated in the chamber.
