Yaya Toure Splits Fans With New Move
Quitting the scene when the ovation is loudest is a common advise usually given to public figures.
However, Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure looks set to run foul of that unwritten law as he is set for a return to the Ivorian national team.
The 34-year old who stepped away from national team duties in September 2016 after winning 113 caps in 14 years via a tweet on Boxing Day said he is available to play for the Elephants again.
I love my country and am available for national team selection. I want to help the next generation and use my experience to make all Ivorians proud!! pic.twitter.com/2wOPZvj15f— Yaya Touré (@YayaToure) December 26, 2017
However instead of the drums to be rolled out for Yaya Toure's impending comeback, opinions have been divided with a larger section blasting the midfielder of making a needless comeback which is premised on selfish gains rather than for patriotism.

Leave when the applause is loudest. U’ll not be credited when there’s an achievement but u’ll be wholly blamed when there’s a failure

Trying to revive your ailing career this has nothing to do with patriotism, using national team as a stepping stone.. hope they don't pick you... use your "experience" at City.

Nice 1 yaya..l think you've made a very wise decision..lrrespective of how things are turning out in city, i doubt if we have any in Africa that can play better.
