Morrocan club Wydad Casablanca defeated Egyptian side Al Ahly 1-0 to win the 2017 CAF Champions League title.

Wydad were crowned champions on a 2-1 aggregate scoreline after a 1-1 draw in the first leg played in Alexandria.

Walid El Karti scored the winning goal in the second leg on Saturday night with a header in the 69th minute from a precise cross delivered by Acraf Bencharki.

Wydad are lifting the CAF Champions League trophy for the second time in their history since they last won the competition for the first time in 1992.

They will now face Pachuca of Mexico in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 on 9 December.
