Worshipers at a popular central mosque in Osun State were full of thanks to God for sparing their lives.

The driver of a truck, which was loaded with beer, was said to have lost control and rammed into the mosque during afternoon prayers.

The incident happened at the Gaji Central Mosque, Olonkoro along Igbona road, Osogbo on Sunday.

Bottles of beer littered the road and the mosque's premises and the liquid content splashed all over, infuriating other worshipers.

It took the intervention of some clerics and elders to prevent the situation from degenerating into a crisis.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State Police Command, Folasade Odoro said the matter was reported to the police and investigation has begun.
