After a tough start to life in the English Premier League, newly hired Unai Emery’s Arsenal had a great September during which they won all their matches.

Fans expected that an award like the Barclays Manager of the Month would be a great achievement for a new manager and one that could inspire him and the team to aspire for greater things.

But they forgot to pay attention to Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo who eventually won the award for September 2018.

His newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers side won three of their four matches in September, beating West Ham United, Burnley and Southampto with clean sheets.

They also secured an impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford and finished September unbeaten.

"It reflects the hard work of everybody in the club," he said. "It represents the effort of everybody working here, everybody at Molineux, our fans, the players, everybody.

"There are no individual prizes in football, everything comes from the team."

Nuno received his award from Hannah Parker, Wolves' Premier League Primary Stars champion, whose life at the local Lanesfield Primary School had been turned around by the League's education programme.

The 44-year-old Portuguese head coach was selected by a combination of votes from a panel of experts and from the public.

So, it’s better luck next time for Arsenal's Unai Emery, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.
