Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme has continued to receive support across borders in his battle to overcome acute leukaemia.

The latest show of solidarity for Ikeme is coming from West Midlands Police officers who have publicly offered their support to the Wolverhampton goalkeeper.

Members of the Wolverhampton city centre policing team donned their football shirts and had a photograph taken in front of a police van.

The picture - in which they hold a banner with a picture of the goalkee and the word '1keme' - was posted on the team's Twitter account.

PC Dave Langford, from the city centre team, said: "We have all got links to Molineux as we all work in the city centre.

"It was a show of support from our team and we are hoping he pulls through and everything is fine.

"Carl has actually thanked our officers for the show of support."

Ikeme's diagnosis was made public in July.
