Will Smith To Sing The Official World Cup Song
Actor and rapper, Will Smith has been chosen alongside two others to perform the official song at the 2018 World Cup.
The Hollywood actor and musician has recorded the official 2018 World Cup anthem with Colombia-based reggaeton star Nicky Jam, and Kosovar pop singer Era Istrefi.
The track is expected to be released on Friday, May 25 and is produced by Diplo of the group Major Lazer.
The official World Cup song is usually performed at either the opening or closing ceremony.
Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez performed We Are One (Ole Ola) at the 2014 opening ceremony, while Shakira’s Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) closed out the 2010 competition.
Diplo, who has produced for the likes of Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, headlined the 2017 Gidifest in Lagos.
He has also created remixes and mashups with Nigerian artistes: Mr Eazi, Skales and Yung L.
