A study carried out by The CIES Football Observatory has rated Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi as the second most expensive African player behind Egyptian wonderman, Mohamed Salah.

Like always, CIES Football Observatory; a world renowned research and data based football portal calculated the transfer values of players in the five major European leagues.

The assessment took into account the key criteria used by market actors: age, position, contract duration, performance, international status, etc.

After all these indices were put into consideration, Salah emerged as Africa's most expensive player with a value of €140.5m placed on the Liverpool star.

Ndidi on his part was valued at €77.4m while the trio of Sadio Mané €66.3m, Aubameyang €64.7m and Kalidou Koulibaly €62m completes the list of Africa's top five most expensive players.

Neymar (€213m) heads the table ahead of Lionel Messi (€202m) and Harry Kane (€195m).

Manchester United pair Romelu Lukaku (€164.8m) and Paul Pogba (€147.5m) and Manchester City string-puller Kevin De Bruyne (€167.8m) are the other Premier League players sited in the top ten.
