Nigeria Professional Football League side, Wikki Tourists have denounced news making the rounds that they have plans of hiring former Enugu Rangers Coach, Imama Amakapabo to handle the team.

After sacking Coach Baba Ganaru few weeks back, the Bauchi State team announced Coach Bala Nikyu as a replacement but there were still speculations that Imama is being courted for the Technical Adviser role.

However, in a statement on Monday, the Media officer for Wikki Tourist, Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi said they are not interested in the services of Coach Imama who helped Rangers to the league title last season.

“The attention of Wikki Tourist FC management has been drawn to an online publication on the club's plan to employ former Rangers Coach Imama Amapakabo as the new technical adviser of the club.

"We wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from that publication and to also states that Wikki Tourists has never contacted Imama or anybody on his behalf.

“As a matter of fact the club has already shortlisted three coaches one of which will be appointed as the new technical adviser and Imama is not among them,” the statement read.

Wikki Tourists had a poor run in the first stanza of the league and they are keen to bounce back strong in the second half of the season.
