The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is responding to the #EndSARS demand that has been trending on Twitter for days now.

In tweets targeted at addressing the issues that Nigerians are raising against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the NPF, the force said SARS was doing well.

It wrote: "The Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) is a section under the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the Nigerian Police Force saddled with the responsibility of tackling incidents of Robbery and other violent crimes in the country.

"SARS unit of the Nigeria Police Force, for about 40 years of its creation has tremendously recorded and achieved landmark successes in arresting dare devil Armed Robbers kidnappers and other violent Criminals as well as reducing 2d barest minimum crimes and criminality in the country”.

Different images and videos have emerged on Twitter, with tales of how personnel of SARS abused Nigerians.

The Police further asked Nigerians who may have been harassed by SARS officials to take advantage of the platform it has for collation of such reports and shun statements on social media.

“If you've contact with SARS personnel and you've any complaints about their actions or inactions, you're at liberty to report their conducts to various platforms provided by the NPF to deal with unprofessional conduct of members of the Force rather than call for end SARS.

The NPF wants Nigerians to call 08057000001 and report SARS Personnel that may have harassed or abused their rights.
