Twenty-Two Super Eagles players trained on Tuesday in Wroclaw ahead of Friday's friendly against Poland and one conspicuous face missing in the mix was Captain John Obi Mikel.

Team officials reveal that Mikel is doubtful for the game against Poland but should be back to face Serbia four days later in London.

It was gathered that Mikel has been working hard at renewing his work permit in China, where he plays for Tianjin Teda.

“We all had been hoping that the renewal would come in good time for him to fly to Poland. As it is now, it is not likely that he would make the trip.” Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor told thenff.com.

Mikel should be in the right frame of mind when he finally teams up with the Super Eagles as he is enjoying a good run with his Chinese Club.

The former Chelsea star bagged two assists in his last outing for Tianjin TEDA.

It is expected that the Super Eagles should still be able to get the job done against Poland in Mikel's absence as Ogenyi Onazi would be leading out the team.
