French star, Thierry Henry had the course to play with several African players at the different clubs he turned up for during his illustrious career.

It wasn't any different while he was in London, playing for Arsenal which had a handful of Africans on their roster.

Presently in Nigeria for a maiden visit powered by Guinness Nigeria PLC, Henry has opened up on who was his best African teammates at Arsenal and why the individual stood tall above his compatriots.

When asked who was the best African footballer he played with at Arsenal, Henry singled out former Super Eagles captain Kanu Nwankwo because of his technical abilities as he also made mention of his love for Lauren, the Cameroonian.

“Don’t forget about Lauren I also love his game but when it comes to techniques I will give it to Kanu. I am not saying this because I am in Nigeria even if I was in another country I will say same.

Henry, however, revealed that the two-time African footballer of the year and one-time Champions League winner is widely underrated.

"Kanu was very good, but he is underrated, he is so humble, nice guy, you never hear any bad thing coming from him, just positive things,” Said Henry, as he spoke to journalists over the weekend.

Other African players like Kolo Toure also played alongside Henry at Arsenal.
