Arsenal’s new record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has opened up on the reasons he opted to become a Gunner even as he claims he's a "bit like" Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

In his first interview with the club after completing a £56million move from Dortmund, Aubameyang described Arsenal as a ‘big’ club that he is proud to play for going forward after spending the past years in Germany with Dortmund.

Explaining why Arsenal appealed to him, Aubameyang told arsenal.com: "I think the club has such a big history and great players like Thierry Henry.

"He's an example for us strikers. I'm really happy, like I said before."

On Henry, he added: "He was fast and scored a lot of goals. He's really an example. I'm a fast player and I score goals too, like Henry a little bit. But as I said, I have to work a lot more."

It is yet to be seen if the signing of Aubameyang would translate to a change in fortune for Arsenal who are struggling to keep pace with the big boys this season.
