Where Is Aisha Buhari? Is She Sick?
The absence of the Wife of President, Aisha Buhari at the South West Women and Youth Presidential campaign rally for her husband, has shown the level of anxiety over her state of health.
She has not been campaigning along with President Muhammadu in his re-election bid and this has raised concern as to her whereabouts.
It was gathered that she is currently abroad for medical reasons, although her office has refused to confirm or deny the speculation.
Some sources explained that the President’s wife has not been seen campaigning for her husband “because she is ill”.
“For about two weeks now, you will observe that the president’s wife has not been campaigning. She is ill and she has traveled abroad for treatment,” one of the sources said.
It was learnt that she will be back in the country on Monday.
Before she took ill, Aisha set up a 700-member team for her husband’s second term bid.
The large team, mainly made up of women, was inaugurated by the president on January 4 at Aso Rock.
She then led her team to a rally in Kano state on January 5.
But that was about the last time she was seen in public working for her husband’s reelection bid.
On January 12, her team arrived Owerri, Imo state, to campaign but she was absent.
Aisha was represented by Dolapo, co-chairperson of the team and wife to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
She was equally represented by Osinbajo during the South West rally held in Ibadan last Saturday.
