Ibrahim Isa is of no fixed address, yet he was employed as a security guard.

He was arraigned before a Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Tuesday on a two-count charge of burglary and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Mrs Judith Obatomi, told the court that one Abdulrahaman Mohammed of Daki-biyu village, Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station on July 20.

Obatomi said that Isa, sometime in June, broke the padlock of a container at a site and stole a grinding generator, iron fence and iron range, all valued at N127, 000.

The accused confessed to committing the crime and pleaded for mercy.

The judge, Alhaji Ahmed Ado, convicted him on both charges and sentenced him to 10 months imprisonment for stealing.

He, however, gave him an option of fine of N14, 000.

Ado also ordered Isa to compensate the complainant with the sum of N100, 000 or return the stolen property.
