What Osinbajo's Wife Said When She Visited Oyo State
Youths are the target of desperate politicians who are ready to give out money to them to cause havoc within themselves.
But these vulnerable targets can decide to reject being used, if properly guided.
This was the message that Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo took to Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Friday, February 1.
The wife of the Vice President addressed party loyalist mostly women and youths at a Special Town Hall Meeting that was held at the Civic Center Ibadan.
"Women should advise their children not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery, they should go out and cast their votes for a reasonable candidate of their choice that can take their lives to the next level.
"They should go out on election day to vote and not fight, they should not wear any branded shirt, cap, or anything branded in any political party logo to the polling units.
“They should not leave their polling centers until their votes were counted.
"Women, please tell your children to shun any form of violence at the polling units, they should use their index finger to cast their votes properly to avoid a void vote, and to you women you should go out on election day and cast your votes for the progressive party,” she said.
She also reminded the women that campaign activities are not allowed on election day as women are known to be good singers.
“Please do not sing on your way to the polling units, just go there in peace monitor your votes, ensure your votes were counted before you peacefully go back home."
"Use your votes to determine your future by casting your votes for APC where continuity of good governance is guaranteed.
“Don't cast your votes for the looters, thieves that will take Nigeria back to square one," she stressed.
The wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi assured her that women in Oyo State were ready to cast their votes for President Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo come February.
