Coach of Kano Pillars Kadiri Ikhana said his side’s superior performance was the reason for their 3-1 victory over Enyimba.

Pillars on Sunday beat Enyimba 3-1 in a match day 12 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Sani Abacha stadium.

After 24 minutes of action, Pillars took the lead inside the jam-packed stadium through Rabiu Balogun’s powerful freekick that found its way into the net after a deflection.

Balogun went on to complete his brace before Steven Chukwudi pulled one back for Enyimba, and Gambo Mohammed made it 3-1 for Pillars.

Ikhana admitted Enyimba was a difficult opponent, but Pillars was better tactically.

“I knew Enyimba will be a difficult team to play but we outplayed them tactically, even when we playing short one, we were still moving ahead and got our third goal. We expected a very serious game and we got it.

“We outplayed Enyimba tactically not technically because Enyimba players are highly technical. But tactically we outplayed them, and physically too.”

Kano Pillars will travel to Jos to take on league leaders Plateau United in a match day 13 fixture.
