‘We Meet In Court’, Saraki Tells Oshiomhole
The leader of the Nigerian parliament, Bukola Saraki has described as an empty boast the threat by the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, to sue him over his recent statement that Oshiomhole has no moral basis to be in politics.
Saraki says he is ready to meet Oshiomhole in court if the need arises over the matter.
On Thursday, an aide to Saraki published a statement saying Nigerians are eagerly awaiting how President Muhammadu Buhari will handle the serious allegations of bribery leveled against Oshiomhole, over the conduct of the party’s recent primaries.
“We expect the President with his anti-corruption campaign to institute thorough and transparent investigation into the allegations against his party chairman.
“The President should let the investigation be thorough, open and transparent. This is no time for any cover-up”, he added.
According to Saraki, until the outcome of a thorough investigation is known to Nigerians and the APC chairman is cleared of the allegations against him, Oshiomhole is not on a firm ground to talk about morality or join the fight against corruption.
