Led by Firmino, Mane, Salah and Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool turned Arsenal players into training partners on Sunday as they routed them 4-0 at Anfield.

But no matter how they try to erase the loss from their minds, it remains indelible and Aaron Ramsey admits they must apologise to the fans and get back to winning ways

“We’re very disappointed with the way we performed but we have to accept it. We’re sorry to the fans that came up - it’s not good enough and we have to do something about it,” he said to the media.

The best way to move forward is to review the match and see where they went wrong as he admitted there were no positives to take from the match.

“That wasn’t good enough. Liverpool showed what it’s going to have to take to compete for the Premier League and we’re going to have to do something about it if we’re going to do that.”

Perhaps the international break has come at a good time for the highly embarrassed Arsenal players and their manager who many expected to take the blame for again showing the naivety that questions the value of his years of experience.

“Most of the squad go away now, so when we get back we’ll have to review that and hopefully we can move on and sort it out,” Ramsey added.
