The 2018 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon will now be played on Thursday August 31, 2017.

The fixture was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday August 27, but the world football ruling body, FIFA has changed the date.

The venue remains the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

According to FIFA, this is to accommodate the wishes of the television rights owners.

The return leg will now be played on September 4 at the Stade Omnisports Ahmadou-Ahidjo in Yaounde.

The first leg in Uyo will kick off at 7pm local time, while the return leg will start at 3pm.
