Lagos is becoming a Mega City and its closest neighbour - Ogun does not want to be left behind.

For about three years, the Ogun state government has been trying to expand the Ojodu – Akute road.

The road project started before the 2015 elections – one of those campaign promises that hardly get fulfilled.

No surprises that the sufferings of the people have lingered till now. But as they say, no pain no gain.

Property owners are currently counting loses as the government has embarked on a demolition of structures adjudged to have passed their boundaries.

Friday morning saw heavy machines move in with house owners watching helplessly as their investments went down in rubbles.

The project, which includes the construction of a 32km bridge that will link Ojodu-Berger to Algbole, has also claimed the popular Alagbole market.

Bounce News saw Army engineers at the location but we cannot confirm if their presence was related to the demolition.

We are yet to confirm if the owners of the demolished buildings have been compensated or will be compensated.

More details on the demolition will come as we get them.
