Don Pedro Obaseki might just be in trouble with fans of YBNL boss, Olamide.

The Nollywood filmmaker has called on the government to ban Olamide’s first tune of 2018 titled ‘Science Student’.

In the song, Olamide fails to condemn drug abuse which is the central message of the song.

Though Olamide highlights drug abuse among young people in Nigeria, he fails to condemn it in the song.

According to him: “Olamide’s 'Science Student' is encouraging our children to mix all forms of drugs, he is speaking in Yoruba so you may not get the import of what he is saying. He is encouraging our children to take drugs, tramadol, monkey tail. He is eulogizing all forms of illicit drugs and making it trendy. Our nation is a nation on its knees.

“This song must be banned. The authorities - NBC and NDLEA need to save the minds of Nigerian kids. We should get hold of Olamide and make him the ambassador of good behavior for Nigerian children” he said.

Nollywood actress, Kemi 'Lala' Akindoju also condemned the recent  glorification of drugs in Nigerian music, after Olamide released the song.

According to her: “This encouragement and promotion to use hard drugs and get ‘high’ under the influence of drug and dance is disturbing. What is more disturbing is how comfortable all of us are with it”.

Meanwhile, Olamide has since responded to the controversy surrounding his song, finally coming out to condemn drug abuse.

The hit master took to his Instagram page to release a statement condemning drug abuse while also announcing that the video for 'Science Student' would be out soon.

"Since the release of #ScienceStudent, the support has been massive. As you are all sharing, dancing, singing along to this relatable music of mine, I want you all to take some time to reflect on the subject, say no to drug abuse. Don’t abuse alcohol. stop mixing what you don’t know about. Live responsibly and drink responsibly. Don’t aspire the ‘highness state’ but a state of purpose fulfillment and passion discovery. Together let’s put an end to drug abuse and save as many lives as possible. The video will be out soon and I can’t wait for you all to see it. #SayNoToDrugAbuse #DrinkResponsibly #ScienceStudent"
