Nearly 25 years after Disney debuted The Lion King, the classic animation which entertained both adults and children over the years is getting a live-action movie.

This film was first announced back in April 2017, now has a teaser.

The Lion King doesn't hit cinemas until July 19 next year, but this exciting first look might be just enough to hold fans over.

The teaser shows us a shot-by-shot remake of the opening in the original animation, complete with an adorable newborn Simba being presented t by Rafiki, before James Earl Jones (voicing Mufusa again) utters a familiar line: "Everything the light touches is our kingdom".

This film which was first announced back in April 2017, now has a teaser, and follows the same route of Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast and Jungle Book-Other classics that have been made into live-action animation.

Directed by  Jon Favreau, who also directed The Jungle Book remake, The Lion King stars Beyoncé as Nala; Donald Glover as Simba; Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar; Alfred Woodard as Sarabi; Florence Kasumba as Shenzi.
