Coach of the home based Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf is feeling fly again after beating host Ghana in the final group match of the WAFU Cup competition.

Nigeria had failed to score a goal in two matches against Guinea and Mali after a 2-0 victory against Sierra Leone in the playoff.

But the Eagles found their rhythm against Ghana, scoring two quick goals to finish second and qualify for the semifinal.

The result really excites Yusuf and he is now looking forward to the semifinal clash.

“Qualification for the semi-finals of the WAFU Cup is great for the team, great for the country. The players showed character and showed that given the opportunity they can play at this level.

“We are focused on the semi-finals. We don’t know who we will play until after the end of Group B.

Nigeria is yet to know its semifinal opponent as the final group games will be played on Tuesday.

All four teams - Niger, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Benin are still in contention for the remaining two spots.
