Nigeria waited till the final five minutes to penetrate the net of Sierra Leone in the 2017 WAFU championship played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Ghana.

It took the effort of two Moses' to part the Sierra Leone Sea.

Moses Okoro and Moses Peter scored within two minutes to seal victory for Nigeria.

Sierra Leone had dominated play from the onset with their first chance coming three minutes after kick off when Donald Wellington drove behind the defence, but failed to beat the Nigerian keeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, in a one-on-one situation.

As the Nigeria defense struggled to find their rhythm, Nathaniel Tongo Vula was close to putting Sierra Leone ahead in the 15th minute but for the intervention of Ezenwa.

The Eagles took flight in the second half and started penetrating the defense of Sierra Leone.

The attack continued and in the 85th minute Moses Okoro scored after curling a 22-yard free-kick into the top left corner to break the deadlock.

Nigeria put the game beyond their opponents two minutes later when Moses Peter scored the decider.

The Eagles advance to group A where they will face - Ghana, Mali and Guinea.
