Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has named 21 players for the African Men’s Volleyball Nations Cup tournament to be hosted by Egypt in October.

The men's national team which resumed camp in Abuja on October 24, 2017 with 34 players, has been pruned to 21 in preparation for the Volleyball African Nations Cup scheduled to begin in Cairo, Egypt on the 20th of October.

Nigeria is team number 17 to confirm participation in the event, which acts also as a qualifier for the 2018 FIVB World Championship.

The top 3 teams from the African Nations championship will represent Africa at the 2018 World Championship.

In the same vein, the women's team has been pruned to fourteen in order to meet the deadline for the registration of the team for the women's African Nations Cup tournament scheduled to hold in Cameroon from 7th to 15th October, 2017.
