Visitors Banned From Girls Schools In Adamawa
Authorities in Adamawa are taking some measures to curb killings and kidnappings of the girl child in the state.
As a result, visitors are no more allowed into any of the girls schools in Adamawa state.
Adamawa State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aliyu Tola said following the abduction of 110 girls from Government Science and Technical College in Dapchi on February 19, the state government summoned all principals of secondary schools and took statistics of all girls-only secondary schools in the state and where they were located, before ordering the principals to control the entry of visitors into such schools.
“The state government has already taken a decisive action since the Dapchi school girls abduction and part of the measures taken apart from the security measures put in place is to know where all the girls schools are located and to ensure that visitors are not allowed entry into those schools.”
Suspected Boko Haram members stormed the Government Science and Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe State and kidnaped 110 girls.
Nigeria’s security agencies are still in search of the girls.
