Villagers Evict Pastor Over Alleged Adultery
Evangelist Gabriel Uzim had his ministry, Church Light of God Deliverance Ministry demolished over accusation of adultery and was evicted from the community.
Some of the angry villagers of Ezza Inyimaegu community in Izzi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state recently accused him of committing adultery with one of his members, Mary Alobu.
They alleged that he committed the adulterous act during their regular night vigils which according to the villagers, had led to a mysterious ailment suffered by the husband of Mary Alobu.
Consequently, the husband, Mr. Alobu after suspecting foul play between the wife and the pastor, stopped eating her food in order for him not to die since it is demanded of custom for the women to prove her innocence by taking an oath.
A source from the village that spoke to Bounce News, Stephen Akochi disclosed that Mary often spent days and sometimes nights in the church without the consent of her husband.
Following the development, Mary's husband ejected her from his house. She went to her brother's house who also sent her away since she refused to open up to him, as the brother do not want to share from the wrath of the gods.
Some of the youths from the village therefore invaded the church and destroyed all their property. The situation made the pastor and other members to vacate the community.
Bounce News gathered that two Church elders, Mr. Christopher Ekuma and Nwebonyi Pius had earlier mediated in the matter but the effort yielded no result.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the accused persons, Mary Alobu and Gabriel Uzim were yet to admit to the crime.
