Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi is now a don at Championship side, Middlesbrough where the fans are going ‘crazy’ for his amazing displays and have now labeled him Zidane of African Football.

Mikel gave another terrific display in  Middlesbrough's 1-0 away win over Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship on Sunday.

As recorded by football statistics website, whoscored.com, Mikel who played in a deep-lying role racked up two dribbles, made one tackle, struck one shot and had a pass success rate of ninety percent.

In all, Mikel made 63 touches, he had 52 passes attempted and 47 passes completed.

The performance by the 31-year old led to fans to describe Mikel as a “Rolls-Royce of a Midfielder” and “Zidane of Africa” on Twitter.
