The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka has retracted his apology to Peter Obi, Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mbaka was criticised by Nigerians for saying that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar will fail in his presidential bid following Obi’s refusal to publicly announce a donation to his ministry.

Following the public outcry, Mbaka apologized to Obi and said his comments during the Bazaar service on Sunday, December 2, 2018 was not aimed at bringing his political career down.

The priest, who asked everyone that was hurt by his comments to forgive him, also called on his members not to fight back.

His apology was, however, rejected by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga.

Onaga, under whose jurisdiction and supervision Fr. Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry Enugu operates, said the apology by Mbaka was no apology but apologetics that did not comply with what the Bishops directed him to do.

However, in a recent Adoration message, the fiery priest told his congregation that he’s no longer interested in apologizing to anyone as he declared, “shame on anyone supporting stingy people”
