Ahmed Musa's growing popularity across Nigeria; especially in the Northern region of the country, can best be described as phenomenal.

After a sterling display at the Russia 2018 World Cup, Musa has endeared himself to more people and it was thus not surprising the kind of reception he got on arrival in Sokoto on Wednesday.

Musa is in town for a Charity match organised by his close pal in the national team, Shehu Abdullahi.

The Leicester City striker, who is now Nigeria's highest goal scorer at the World Cup, cruised into the heart of the Sokoto Caliphate in his newly purchased $67,000 (N23 million) Range Rover Velar.

In an Instagram video shared by Musa, so many fans were captured surrounding his new shiny whip as he gradually left the scene.

"Just touched down in Sokoto. The love this city has given me has been fantastic! Thank you for your warm welcome and embracing me like I am from here. We are truly 1 Naija ????," he captioned the post.

The Charity game will be played at the Sokoto Stadium between Team Musa and Team Shehu on Thursday, July 5th.
