In a pursuit to get frequent playing time, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has joined Charleroi on loan from Wolfsburg.

The German club announced on Twitter that Osimhen will play the 2018/19 season on loan at the Belgian outfit.

“@victorosimhen9 has joined Belgian top-flight club RSC Charleroi on loan. Good luck, Victor” it wrote.

Osimhen joined Wolfsburg in 2016 after impressing at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, committing to a pre-contract agreement which saw him join officially in January 2017, after he turned 18.

Since making his debut in May 2017 against Borussia Monchengladbach, the 19-year-old has struggled to get quality game time.

Last season, he made 12 German Bundesliga appearances, starting just three games for Bruno Labbadia’s side.
