Victor Moses is set to be the next Nigerian player to go under the doctor’s knife in what has been a torrid year of some sort for the country’s superstar.

There lies a lot behind the smiling faces of these football stars as latest reports indicate that Moses apparently played Chelsea’s last two games with the help of pain-killing injections.

It has now emerged that the real reason why Moses was omitted from the 23-man Super Eagles list for the June 10 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against South Africa is because he must undergo surgery for a toe injury.

The 26-year-old Chelsea right wing-back, who made 34 appearances and scored three goals as his London club reclaimed the Premier League title, was a high-profile omission for the South Africa game.

Before now, Vincent Enyeama and Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel have also had course to go under the knife this year.
