PHOTOS: University Students’ Death In River Triggers Protest In Kano
There was pandemonium in Wudil area of Kano State after two students died in a river.
Some students of the Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil (KUST) aggrieved by the situation took to the streets in protest of the death of their school mates, destroying property.
An eyewitness, Ibrahim Yusuf, told Bounce News that three students went to the river on Wednesday to swim, but unfortunately one of them drowned while another died after he was rushed to hospital.
The eyewitness said after the incident, some students went on rampage vandalising school property.
According to reports gathered by our correspondent, the protest later led to chaos that resulted in the burning of some items.
It's not clear why the students launched a protest, as the school authority has no direct bearing to the cause of the death of the students.
Speaking on the situation, the University spokesman, Abdullahi Abdullahi, has confirmed the demonstration of the students noting that he was yet to get details of the incident.
