The two goals scored by Messi are his 95th and 96th goals in the Champions League as he closes in on his fierce rival, Cristiano Ronaldo who has already passed the 100-goal mark.

Aside from scoring twice, it was also Messi that provided the assist for Ivan Rakitic's goal.

Ernesto Valverde's men capitalised on some dismal defending by Juventus to claim some degree of revenge for last season's quarter-final loss.
