Playing against back-to-back European champions, Real Madrid is bound to be an energy sapping encounter and Liverpool star man, Mohammed Salah is not taking chances.

In this light, Liverpool’s physio has revealed that Salah will not fast ahead of the Champions League final.

The Egypt star is a devout Muslim and has been observing Ramadan, which started on May 16

Egyptian newspaper Al Masry al Youm claimed the Liverpool forward had rejected the idea of breaking the fast.

But Liverpool physiotherapist Ruben Pons says Salah will put his fasting on hold for the final against Real Madrid.

“We were in Marbella and the nutritionist established a work plan,” he told Spanish radio station Cadena SER.

“Friday and the day of the match he won’t, so it’s not going to affect him.”

It is understood that it is permissible to exchange your fasting day for another if you are travelling during the day, which Salah will be doing.

Sadio Mane and Emre Can are also Muslims, but it’s unclear what their plans are.
