Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid crushed Juventus 3-0 on Tuesday to put themselves in good stead to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals.

Ronaldo gave Madrid the lead in just the third minute, before drawing applause from Juve supporters with a superbly-executed overhead kick, which Marcelo rounded off.

Madrid rematched Juve with the same XI that won last season's Champions League Final, while the Bianconeri were without Miralem Pjanic, Medhi Benatia and Federico Bernardeschi.

On that occasion, Los Blancos thrashed the Old Lady 4-1, but history was on the side of the latter, given they had come out on top in their last three knockout meetings.
