UEFA Champions Real Madrid suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to CSKA Moscow in Russia.

An early goal put the host ahead with Real Madrid laboring in vain for a comeback.

Toni Kroos gifted CSKA their goal in the second minute with a terrible backpass that was picked up by Nikola Vlasic who fired past Keylor Navas from just inside the penalty area.

Regulation time was up and CSKA became anxious for Romanian referee Ovidiu Hategan to sound the final whistle.

But that was to come after CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was sent off four minutes into injury time for two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent.

CSKA held on to the victory to move to the top of Group G above Real Madrid, who dropped down to second.
