The Nigerian duo of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme are on the cusp of Champions League history with their Israeli club, Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Hapoel are hoping to become the fourth Israeli club to qualify for the group stage of Europe's biggest club competition; a mission Ogu and his compatriot are ready to give their all to achieve.

The Israeli champions won the first leg 2-1 at home after Nigerian striker Nwakaeme canceled out the visitors’ opening goal.

A good result on Tuesday will propel Hapoel get into the mini-league stage of the competition.

“Maribor are a good and experienced side, so it will be a difficult game after we had to come from a goal down to win the first game,” said Ogu, who incidentally started out in Europe in Slovenia.

”We are going to fight, to make sure we complete the job because we want to play in the Champions League.”
