Liverpool on Tuesday recorded the biggest win ever by an English club in Europe as they demolished Maribor 7-0 in Slovenia to move top of Group E in the Champions League.

The Reds were firing on all cylinders from the blast of the whistle and they were three goals up within 20 minutes as they cruised to their first Champions League victory of the season.

The trio of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah set the tone for what turned to be a historic night.

Salah and Firmino doubled their own personal tallies before late goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold completed the rout on a record-breaking night for Jurgen Klopp's side.
