Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hailed his players for a resilient 3-2 victory recorded over French giants PSG in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Sturridge had opened the scoring on half-hour mark at Anfield before James Milner doubled Liverpool’s lead six minutes later.

However, PSG came back to level, thanks to Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe.

Firmino then saved Liverpool by netting a late winner to stun the French giants at Anfield.

"Daniel (Sturridge) played a super game,” said Klopp.

"I have never seen him as fit as he is in the moment. He was everywhere.

"He helped left and right and we was in the box when he was needed.

"Then you can bring Bobby Firmino on and that helps a lot and I loved his goal celebration."

On Liverpool’s performance against the Ligue 1 champions, Klopp added: "It was really important we started like we did.

"We were so strong and good with the ball.

"We changed the system because we expected a change from them.

"We needed all of our focus and we covered a lot of yards and closed all of the gaps.”
