Lionel Messi is leading by example as Barcelona have kickstarted their quest for a sixth Champions League title in their group opener against PSV.

Messi scored with an impressive free kick goal against PSV after 32 minutes, reaching 101 goals in this competition and also the first goal of the UEFA Champions League this season.

The Argentine broke the deadlock after 32 minutes, drilling his left-footed shot into the top left-hand corner of Jeroen Zoet's net.

This was Barcelona's second shot on goal, and Messi made it count in style!

If that wasn't enough reason to celebrate, the Argentine is now the tournament's top scorer in group stage games, after breaking the tie with his eternal nemesis, Cristiano Ronaldo.
