Bayern Munich came from behind to secure a 2-1 vital victory in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter final.

Inspired by Franck Ribery, the German side were more professional and less wasteful in front of goals on Tuesday night.

After wasting a clear chance to score early on, Pablo Sarabia broke the deadlock for Sevilla after 31 minutes.

Jesus Navas was then pressured to score an own goal from Ribery's low cross, before Thiago Alcantara's deflected header from the France international's delivery after the break extended the visitors' winning run in Europe this season to seven consecutive games.

The return leg will be played in Munich on Wednesday, with Bayern the favourite to advance to the semi final.
