Though they could have returned home with an away win, the Nigeria U20 team, the Flying Eagles settled for a 2-2 draw against Guinea Bissau on Saturday in the first leg of their 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Paul Aigbogun's boys will have themselves to blame for not getting an away win as they allowed their two-goal advantage from the first half slip off their hands.

Two goals in the first half from Wasiu Alalade had initially put the Flying Eagles in cruise control.

However, the table was turned in the second half with the host seizing the initiative.

With as much as six foreign-based pros in their lineup, Guinea Bissau got two goals of their own inside six minutes in the second.

With Saturday’s result, there is still all to play for in the second leg even though the Flying Eagles have the advantage of not losing away from home and getting two important away goals.

The Second Leg comes up next weekend at the UJ Esuene stadium in Calabar.
