The football rivalry that exists between Nigeria and South Africa will be rekindled at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday as both teams get back in action for their second group game

While the Flying Eagles were victorious in their opening group game; beating Burundi 2-0 on Sunday, the Amajita of South Africa were only able to get a 1-1 draw against hosts, Niger

Now, the Paul Aigbogun wards are looking to seal their qualification for the World Cup with a victory over South Africa at the Seyni Koutche Stadium on Tuesday.

Nazifi Yahaya and Effiom Maxwell who got the goals against Burundi will be looking to add to their tally in the game against South Africa.

A win in today’s game will shoot the seven-time African Champions, Nigeria in to semifinal and also guarantee them a place in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland later in the year.

Already, Coach Aigbogun has stated that his side is firmly focused on sealing the both tickets when they file out against the South Africans.

” We are entering a second game that will be different from the first which we won,” Aigbogun told reporters in Niamey on Monday.

“I  can’t say that our team will play in the same style as against Burundi, but we know one thing; we are here to qualify for the World Cup.”
