Two Teenage Bus Conductors To Spend Christmas In Prison
An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded two teenage bus conductors, who allegedly robbed a man of a Tecno phone worth N45,000.
Quadri Hassan, 18, and Oladapo Ishola, 19 are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery along with 22-year-old electrician, Adebayo Oluwafemi.
The accused, who all reside at Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos, however, pleaded innocence.
The prosecutor, Asp. Edet Okio, told the court that the accused robbed Mr Dare Adebowale of the phone and some other valuables at 4.00p.m. on October 26 on Oshodi Bridge, Lagos.
He said that the accused and others still at large were armed with knives, broken bottles and some other dangerous weapons.
“The accused were apprehended by the police in their escape bid while their accomplices fled in an unmarked motorcycle," he said.
He submitted that the offences contravened Sections 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (revised).
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Layinka, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody pending the advice of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
Layinka adjourned the case until January 22, 2018, for mention.
