Usman Sale from Yobe state and Mohammed Mustapha Garba from Gombe have a lot of explaning to do.

They have to convince the Police Command in Gombe and the public how 30 cows strayed got into their custody.

Parading the suspects, the Gombe State Police Commissioner, Shina Olukolu said the suspect were arrested in Dadin-Kowa, Yamaltu Deba local council area following a tip-off.

The suspects were said to have been traveling from Taraba with 35 cows they could not account for.

They, however, said they didn't steal the cattle but came across the strayed animals while rearing around Ussa in Taraba.

In the same vein, the state police boss CP Shina Olukolu also paraded a syndicate which specializes in motorcycle snatching at gun point.

While promising to continue to combat crime, the police commissioner appealed to residents to continue to assist the police with genuine and useful information.

Commenting on the recent communal clash in the southern part of Gombe, Olukolu said the police had earlier taken a proactive measure but the seasonal clash still occurred. 

He added that the police is on top of the matter and working on a report that could suggest a lasting solution to the lingering crisis.

Gombe state last week Friday witnessed another communal clash between Billiri and Shongom communities. One person was killed.
